If you were to die today, are you 100% sure that you would go to Heaven? The Bible says YOU CAN KNOW whether you are going to Heaven when you die. The following will explain how:
All have sinned
Firstly, you need to acknowledge what the bible says about you – that you are a sinner
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; [Romans 3:23]
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: [Romans 3:10]
…there is none that doeth good, no, not one. [Romans 3:12]
For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not. [Ecclesiastes 7:20]
God’s wrath is against sin
Because you are a sinner, God’s wrath is upon you
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; [Romans 1:18]
But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; [Romans 2:5]
The penalty for sin is Hell
God will send sinners who his wrath abides upon to Hell when they die
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. [Revelation 20:14]
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. [Revelation 20:15]
And these shall go away into everlasting punishment… [Matthew 25:46]
Jesus died for your sins
But the good news is that Jesus died on the cross and paid for all your past, present and future sins and rose again from the dead the third day
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. [Romans 5:8]
…that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: [I Corinthians 15:3-4]
Jesus is God
Jesus is the eternal Son of God, who is God manifest in the flesh
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. [Isaiah 9:6]
Salvation is a free gift
Going to heaven doesn’t depend upon any work that you do, but rather upon what Jesus has done for you by dying and paying for all your sins.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. [Ephesians 2:8-9]
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. [Romans 4:5]
Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved
There is only one thing you must do to be saved from Hell and to go to Heaven instead, and that is to believe in Jesus. To believe in Jesus means to personally trust in him that he died for your sins on the cross.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [John 3:16]
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. [John 6:47]
Once you are saved, you are saved forever
The moment you believe in Jesus you receive the free gift of everlasting life. You are born again and God now becomes your Father. You can never lose this free gift of salvation by any sin you commit because you didn’t earn it by your own righteousness in the first place. If you wilfully sin in this life, God your Father will punish and discipline you in this life, but he won’t send you to Hell in the next life if you have become his child by believing in Jesus. God promises to never cast us out or lose us.
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. [John 6:37]
And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
[John 6:39]
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
[John 10:28]
You can know that you are going to Heaven when you die
Once you believe in Jesus Christ and trust him alone as your only way to be saved, you can know with 100% certainty that you will go to Heaven
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life… [I John 5:13]
After reading the above and understanding that the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross and paid for all your sins and rose again the third day, do you choose today to believe in Jesus and trust him alone as your personal saviour?
